Trekking Itineraries

 

 

We offer treks with different options, each of which takes you through the beautiful mid-hill region of Gorkha (maximum altitude is approximately 3500 m). These treks are technically easy, however strenuous. Average walking time is about 6 hours per day.

All our journey begins from Nepal’s capital city Kathmandu, exploring its world heritage sites, medieval temples, palaces, stupas, monasteries, arts and architectures, markets etc and then you will drive to Historic town Gorkha  where you will explore old historic Gorkha palace. From Gorkha, you will start your  trek passing through  different villages with different cultures. Among them, in one village we will manage home stay accommodation, (if you are interested we can manage homestay in all villages) where you will be welcomed into the community and invited to stay in one of the villages home. The accommodation is simple but comfortable with good bedding as well as clean toilet facilities. The food is delicious and you will be eating your meals with the family. You will be entertainment provided by the community, this will be in the form of traditional Nepali dancing and singing. and community may ask you to join them.

During your stay you will be able to see and feel what it is like to live the life of a Nepali villager. Walk with your family while they go about their daily activities, tending animals, tilling the fields, going to community school with the children etc. You can have look at the developments that the community have supported and funded, the community school, community development bank, income generating activities  and many more.  At the end of your stay, you will be overwhelmed by the farewell that your new family will give you. If you never come this way again the village and its people will remain in your heart forever. After enjoying the trek You will be given farewell dinner with our team. You feedback and suggestion are very important for the promotion of Community Tourism in the Region.

Duration: 13 days with 9 days trekking
Maximum altitude: 2200m

Day 01:

Welcome you at the airport in Kathmandu and transfers to the hotel.

Day 02:

Sightseeing in Kathmandu valley: Sight seen in Kathmandu Valley to some of the world cultural heritage sites like Bhaktapur Durbar Square, Pashupatinath Temple, Boudhanath Stupa, Swayambhunath Stupa (the Monkey Temple) etc. Welcome dinner in the evening together with trekking team. 

Day 03:

Drive to Gorkha (4-5 hrs, 140k.m.), explore Gorkha Bazaar and ascend to the famous Gorkha Palace. Spend the night at hotel or tented camp. 

Day 04:

Trek to Chhoprak (900m, 4-5hrs):  Descend to Daraundi valley. Cross the river and ascend to Chhoprak village. Accommodation is in tent or in the village homestay.

Day 05:

Trek to Chipleti (1500 m, 5-6hrs): Once we reach the top, you may be rewarded by a breathtaking view of the Himalayas! Pass through several villages and thick forest along the ridge. It is an easy day walk to Chipleti Accommodation is in tent or in the village homestay.

Day 06:

Trek to Sirandanda (2200m, 5-6hrs): Enjoy the close-up views of Himalayan Peaks (weather-permitting) during the whole day along the ridge in an easy walk to Sirandanda. Visit the Buddhist gompa (monastery) at Sirandada. Accommodation is in the tented camp.

Day 07:

Trek to Lamidanda (1400m, 2-3hrs): Steep descent to Lamidanda, a typical Hindu Brahmin village.  Community organizes the cultural Program in the evening. Accommodation is in the tent or in the village homestay.

Day 08:

Explore the village activities and life style. Visit the Community managed activities ( i.e. Community School, Community Bank, or other activities). Village walk

Day 09:

Trek to Bhirsing (1200m, 3-4hrs): From Lamidanda we follow a scenic trail to Batase. We have our cookout lunch close to the village school and continue to Bhirsing a Gurung settlement. While staying in this beautiful village, you will get another very special experience of Nepalese village life. Enjoy the evening with cultural program. Accommodation is in the tent or in the village homestay.

Day 10:

Trek to Sailitar: (6-7hrs). Descent to the Chepe River. Cross the river. It is an easy day walk along the river side (alleviated by a quick swim). Enjoy river-side camping close to Sailitar

Day 11:

Trek to Baisejangar (3-4 hrs.). and Drive back to Kathmandu. Continue walk in the valley. A great swimming hole is in the river! After crossing a plateau, we hit the road at Baisejangar after an ultimate short uphill climb Arrive at our Kathmandu hotel in the evening.

Day 12:

Free day in Kathmandu :There are plenty of places to see and enjoy in Kathmandu

Day 13:

Departure: Transfers you to the airport to say bye-bye and Pheri Bhetaunlaa
